70 Degrees in December

We've been enjoying warm, sunny days this week, as well as fun, cheap outings with the kids. Earlier in the year I purchased a coupon book from one of my teens in youth group. All of the coupons expire, so I've been trying to finally take advantage of them.

Jesse randomly found a $5 Chick-Fil-A gift card in the house. The kids and I shared chicken mini biscuits, then the trio played in the play area. James ate like he had never consumed food before in his life.

I've more or less given up on nap time and have been taking all four kids to the park after I pick up Jackson. Yesterday we ended up playing for an hour.

Jackson befriended another boy at the park, which meant I could focus on the safety of the trio while knowing Jack was having fun. The kids are really playing and talking together nowadays, calling one another by name and chasing each other.

It was so warm outside, I decided to take the kids to SweetFrog (another coupon) for frozen yogurt. I just barely grabbed James before he spooned large scoops of candy all over the counter and floor. The kids did not say one word while eating their tasty treats.

Today we headed to a park a bit farther out that we rarely visit. It was nice to have a change of pace and see how the kids tackle different obstacles.

Seriously, when did these kids get so big?

The forecast is calling for temperatures in the 70's over the next several days, so I guess our days outside in shorts shall continue!

  1. You should call me when you're so close by! Connor lives playing with Jack!

    1. We used to always go home after preschool, but this no napping business is creating a time slot that needs to be filled. Jackson's preschool is right by Frank Liske, so I'll be venturing to Concord/Kannapolis a bit. I'll let you know.
