According to Jesse, here's what happened at the doctor's appointment.
- They weighed Jack and measured his height
- Jackson was upset about having to give a urine sample. Jesse was amused by the sign in the bathroom.
- The nurse checked his vision, hearing, blood pressure.
- The doctor was unfamiliar to us, which made Jackson automatically withdrawn. He did not cooperate with any of her questioning.
- After the doctor left, Jackson knew the nurse was coming back to give shots. Jesse told Jackson they could go pick out a toy after the appointment.
- The nurse returned and pricked his finger to check for iron. She then gave him three shots in his leg because she was afraid the needle would break with him wiggling his arms so much. Jesse and the nurse had to hold him down. (At least are these last shots until middle school!)
- After a couple minutes, Jackson calmed down and the boys left to go to Target.
When I asked Jackson about his appointment, he said:
The nurse said, "Look at the shapes at the door". The doctor checked my whole body. Like all my pieces of body. Like here and here and here (pointing to knees, chest, neck). I got shots. It was actually a needle. I freaked out from it. And I got a bunch of treats. It was two lollipops, three stickers, and one pencil. I picked out a toy after that. I got a little Spiderman toy.
